    1 March 2013

Dance music producer Baauer’s viral hit “Harlem Shake” has taken over YouTube and the Billboard charts, and now the Philadelphia native is taking his #1 single on the road when he teams up with eccentric rapper Danny Brown for the “Worst of Both Worlds” tour. Baauer will be joined by Detroit-based emcee Danny Brown. Brown grabbed the attention of music fans and critics with his 2011 album XXX, and his video for “Grown Up” was placed on several “best of ” lists in 2012. He was also recently featured on A$AP Rocky’s 7-rapper posse cut “1 Train” off LONG.LIVE.A$AP. This will be the first time the two alternative musicians will be touring together. • Emmett Till...
    1 May 2013

It seems like Emmett Till’s family is quite clear on what they wanted from Lil Wayne – an apology – and now they reject a letter that the rapper wrote to them today. Lil Wayne may have used some clever wordplay in a publicist-issued letter issued today that seemed to be a formal apology for lyrics i “Karate Chop.” In the song, the rapper metaphorically speaking on how he would physically beat up a woman’s private parts like Emmett Till. The Till family got the letter and said there was no actual apology in it. Airickca Gordon-Taylor, Executive Director, Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation and Till Family Representative, released the following statement. We are aware of Lil Waynes statement of acknowledgement of our familys pain and our disapproval of referencing Emmett Till in his lyrical content. While its commendable that he has vowed to respect the legacy of Emmett Till and his memory to not use or reference Emmett Till or the Till family in his music, this statement falls short of an apology, as none is mentioned. Lil Wayne has not commented on the matter yet. Read the whole letter here.
